I am an Associate Professor in the Writing Studies Department at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in writing and literacy studies. Some of my research interests include critical theories of writing instruction, histories of popular literacy, and intersections of literacy and cultural movements. I am currently writing about multimodality in writing instruction. In my classes, we typically write in and study current media.
